Earth Year 1 

Welcome to Earth Class.

Our focus at the start of this academic year has been to welcome and settle all the children back into school routines ensuring that they are happy to come, feel safe and eager to learn. In order to achieve this the classroom layout is similar to an early years Reception environment where independence, social interaction and ‘learning through play’ is encouraged and supported through a range of independent play and more structured based learning activities. Focusing on both academic skills and social and emotional skills as they are all as important as each other in order to enable us to learn effectively. As the year progresses the structure will also slowly alter to support the children in developing their skills to access a more formalised learning style whilst maintaining learning through fun and enjoyment.

We have 4 members of staff who work in Earth; Miss Riggett ( currently on maternity leave), Miss Mitra, Mrs Holland and Miss Butler. .
